La poussière prélevée provient ici d'une montagne dans le Valgaudémar, schiste morcellé et concassé par le temps et l'eau des glaciers. L'installation fonctionne de manière autonome avec une activation quotidienne aléatoire des tamis perceptifs, s'écoulant à différents rythmes et intensités pendant toute la durée de l'exposition. Chaque soir, la poussière est réhaussée pour le lendemain. Silencieusement, les poussieres chutent et dessinent l'éspace, rendant palpables les courants d'air.
In the context of the EPS-HEP particle physics conference to be held in Ghent this summer, KASK’s 2018-19 Curatorial Studies designed a series of events drawing closer lines between art and science in partnership with art@CMS, a program developed within one of the large experiments at the CERN Large Hadron Collider in Geneva. A lecture cycle, a film programme, an exhibition and a publication, Harbinger is an inquiry on some of the aspects that simultaneously approximate and distinguish the fields and practices in art and science.
